'One Thing I always appreciate at Southwest Minnesota Orthopedics and Sports Medicine is the friendliness of the whole staff. I am always greeted with a smile by whoever is at the front desk. The waiting area is always clean and bright and the reading material available in that area is not “ancient history” ~like one can run into in some waiting areas! On the rare occasions when I may need to wait beyond the expected time, the reason for the delay is explained. 

'The wait time was good. The staff were all very friendly and made me feel comfortable at the facility. Even when I was nervous before my surgery, they did great at reassuring me. The facility was very nice and comfortable. 

'Loren and I have had quite a journey with Southwest Minnesota Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. Everyone has always treated us with the greatest respect and in a very caring manner. We feel like everyone is part of our family. Between the two of us we have ad eleven surgeries- knees, shoulders, elbows, and hands- over the years. All turned out very well and we have been able to resume our lives relatively pain free.

'I have had a very good experience and have no complaints. Everything was very god with the nurses and doctor. I first came to the clinic in extreme pain and I am feeling better. I’ve been slowly healing after surgery, but know things will continue to improve. My appointments have all gone very well.

The day of my surgery they made sure that I wasn’t in any pain and that I was comfortable. 'I’m a 73 year old female diagnosed with osteoarthritis in both knees and both hips. In 2003 I had my first knee replacement and in 2006 my second. Both my knee surgeries were done by Dr. Nwakama of Southwest Minnesota Orthopedics in Marshall, MN. Dr. Nwakama was very professional and answered all my questions before and after my surgeries. I wasn’t able to go for a walk without pain before my knee surgeries, but after surgery and doing my therapy faithfully I was able to walk without pain. My surgeries were such a success that 8 years later when I needed hip surgery I scoured the internet for information on hip surgery and I discovered that a minimally invasive technique existed and was called, “Anterior total hip replacement”. So I read everything I could to find out about it. I called Dr. Nwakama and made an appointment to talk about hip surgery. I found out he had been specially train to do the anterior total hip replacement and had done many of these replacements. He was very professional and answered all my questions and concerns. I scheduled my surgery for anterior total hip replacement and spent 1 night in the hospital and was up and walking the next day. I started my physical therapy at Southwest Minnesota Therapy the same week and with their professional skills for 3 weeks I was able to completely lead a normal active life. One year later my other hip started to give me problems with walking so there was no doubt as to whom I would have do my surgery.

'On 4/19/16 I had a complete shoulder replacement by Dr. Nwakama of SW MN Orthopedics in Marshall, MN. I have been a patient for several years and have always found Dr. Nwakama and his staff to be very professional and responsive to my questions and concerns. The recent surgery went very well and I am now taking physical therapy with Southwest Therapy located in the same facility. During the planning an scheduling of the surgery I had several questions which were always answered in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend Dr. Nwakama and his staff. They are always very accessible and always professional.'
